SiSoftware Sandra (System Analyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) an information & diagnostic utility. It should provide most of the information (including undocumented) you need to know about your hardware, software and other devices whether hardware or software. It works along the lines of other Windows utilities, however trying to go beyond them and show you more of what is actually happening. While it is always possible in Sandra to disable hyper-threading (HT) to only use the physical cores / modules or disable multi-core (MC) to only use the socket / package or just one thread - using Options - we decided to make it easier used.
So now you can test both MT, MC, ST - which can be useful on a processor that uses Turbo / dynamic overclocking and can increase the thread a little more for higher speeds.
You also can run on all AP (application processor) - but not the BSP (processor boot, aka threads 0) just in case the BSP causes AP threads wait for it to finish and thus delay the completion of the test (even now there are some problematic system).
Single-thread will use the AP does not generally BSP BSP as loaded with other tasks (eg interrupts).
Note Sandra using the scheduler itself - so it does not rely on Windows to schedule a thread on a specific socket / core (and probably the rest of the park). NUMA is also fully supported and appropriate NUMA node will be selected as appropriate for the package / core yarns.
