Tired of seeing the same old Windows 7 Start Orb, you can now change it easily. Just click on Select & Change Start Button to select a custom Start Orb.
The program will backup the original explorer.exe, change the start button and restart explorer.exe.
Restore the default Start Orb and explorer from the backup, click Restore Original Explorer Backup.
Next time you want to change the ball starts and you start the application, we will get a screen with the option to restore the original or select and change the ball.
Note:
Before changing from one custom orb to another custom balls, I suggest you first Restore Original Explorer Backup and go back to the default and then switch to another custom orb.
This program, to be run from its own Program Folder.
Best to always create a System Restore point first. If you face any problem, you can always revert back to a good point. Or, copy-paste sfc / scannow in an elevated cmd. Run the System File Checker and replace all corrupted system files with original system file.
In the rare possibility that you lose your explorer.exe, then from your desktop, press CTRL-SHIFT-ESC to bring up the Task Manager. Click the File tab> New Task> Type cmd> click Run. In the command prompt that opens, type sfc / scannow and press enter. Restart when asked to.
IF in x64 version, you receive the error message 'unhandled exception', please click Continue or try running it again 'As an Admin'.
If the Start button can not change, you may have to follow these steps:
- Ensure that the program is closed.
- Manually take ownership of "C: \ Windows \ explorer.exe" - or you can use our UWT to do so easily.
- Run the program and select the orb. Now it should work.
