The world took a gameplay style of Most Wanted and Carbon 2005 to 2006, with a focus on road racing, tuning and police chasing illegal, and adds classic MMO elements to the mix such as special abilities. World also features the city Palmont and Rockport, cities of Most Wanted and Carbon, into the design of the map, with redesigned graphics and a new location on the map to make the trip between the two cities easier.
The game currently features 135 licensed cars consisting of tuners, muscle cars, and exotics. In Rockport, there are signs in Downtown Rockport beltway reads "Tri-Cities", along with a path leading to a bridge with tollbooths on the other side. However, the road passing through the toll locked for all drivers. Need for Speed fans assume that there are plans to add Tri-City Undercover into the game.
