Batman: Arkham Asylum using Nvidia PhysX, 3D Vision y SLI Scaling Arkham Asylum are brought to life. The PC version of Batman: Arkham Asylum is truly a unique experience. Not satisfied with just a port of the console version, the team at Rocksteady add PhysX to a game for a realistic destruction, fog, and fabrics. 3D Vision Support is also added to provide a very profound experience.
When PhysX is enabled in Batman: Arkham Asylum, garbage collide and crash around the neighborhood while the wall tiles cracked and collapsed on impact during the battle. Newspapers and whisk float under your feet and cobwebs tear apart the moment you walk though them.
The PC version features gram realistic, volumetric fog using physical simulation technique called fine particle hydrodynamics (SPH). Because of the complexity of this algorithm, a simulation SPH high quality can only be done in real-time on a GPU capable of PhysX. With SPH, volumetric smoke and fog realistic swirling around the characters as they pass through, creating a more dynamic game experience. In the words of Sefton Hill, director of games at Rocksteady Studios: "supports Nvidia PhysX technology has allowed us to add a bit extra to the PC version of the game. As Batman interacts with the world, asylum aging creates a deeper, the world believed that was really interesting players in.
Rocksteady is also working with Nvidia to ensure Batman: Arkham Asylum takes full advantage of 3D Vision. 3D Vision brings to life a special part of the game as Batman detective mode. Character and effect seem to leap out of the screen. Gliding through Arkham's exterior feels open and spacious.
