OpenVPN powerful and highly flexible VPN daemon. OpenVPN supports SSL / TLS security, TCP, Ethernet bridging or UDP transport tunnel through a proxy or NAT, support for dynamic IP address and DHCP, scalability hundreds or thousands of users, and portability most of the major OS platforms. OpenVPN is tightly bound to the OpenSSL library, and derives much of its crypto capabilities from it.
OpenVPN supports conventional encryption secret pre-shared key (Static Key mode) or public key security (mode SSL / TLS) using the client and server certificates. OpenVPN also supports non-encrypted TCP / UDP tunnel. OpenVPN is designed to work with TUN TAP network interface / virtual available on most platforms. Overall, OpenVPN aims to offer many key features of IPSec but with a relatively light footprint.
