HD Tune is a software utility that serves for monitoring, fault finding, see health status or condition of the hard drive laptop / computer.
HD Tune application has four main menu that can be used to check the condition of the hard disk, namely:
1. Benchmark hard drive aims to measure the performance of the hard drive. In this benchmark menu we can know the transfer rate, burst rate, acces time and CPU Usage.
2. Transfer Rate is the speed of the hard drive sends data to a computer or can be referred to as a read speed of the hard disk. Read speed is measured in megabytes per second (MB / sec). The maximum speed and minimum average shown on the right. The blue line on the graph shows the performance of reading the entire disk.
3. Access Time, the time needed to be able to access the data needed, from idle (silent) to obtain the data. The average access time is measured and displayed in milisecon (ms). Acces Time on the graph shown as yellow dots indicate where the smaller the value, the better the performance of the hard drive.
4. Burst Rate, is the highest speed (in megabytes per second) at which data can be transferred from the drive interface (eg IDE, SATA or SCSI) to the Operating System.
CPU Usage, showing how much time is used by the CPU (in%) for reading data from the hard drive.
