   FreeRIP is an application that allows you to save audio CD tracks to Wav, MP3, WMA, Ogg Vorbis or FLAC audio files, This process is called Ripping.

   The program supports retrieval of information regarding song title, artist name, and the like via the Internet. So the name of Wave or MP3 file that is generated can be adjusted. In addition to Wave and MP3 Also supporting the Ogg format, WMA, and FLAC.

   In terms of its encoding, this application enables you perform a number of personalized settings. In the MP3 example, you can choose between Mono, Stereo, Joint Stereo, choose between CBR, VBR, ABR, and of course choose the level of quality. For CBR, FreeRIP provide options bitrate of 16 kbps to 320 kbps. In VBR and ABR, the quality of which can been sorted in descending order from 9 (worst) to 0 (best).

   FreeRIP also supports converting one audio format to another audio format. So take the result FLAC files from CD-DA example, you can convert to MP3 at a later date without the need to use CDDA concerned.

Once you have the digital audio tracks in your preferred format, and want to move to an audio player (eg portable MP3 player such as an Apple iPod or Creative Zen), Smartphone or discman. With FreeRIP you can save tracks as CD quality WAV files or encode to a lossy (MP3, Ogg Vorbis, WMA) or lossless (FLAC) audio format.
