Dolphin is an emulator for the recent two Nintendo video game consoles: GameCube and Wii. It is highly compatible with the majority of titles for both platforms. It was first developed as a source closed in 2003, and as open source since 2008.
Dolphin began solely as a GameCube emulator, focus on just one console. But, when the Wii was released and found to have the hardware is almost identical to its older sibling, naturally evolved into Dolphin GameCube and Wii emulator.
